Described by the Sacramento Bee as "experimental popsters," Didley Squat is certainly making the most groundbreaking music in Sacramento today. Often described as a mix between the best of 80's new wave (Talking Heads, The Cars, David Bowie) and modern high energy rock (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beck), Didley Squat is creating a new sound while borrowing from every influence imaginable.
Jerry Perry of Sacramento's Alive and Kicking compares listening to Didley Squat to "running for your life inside a Pac-Man game gone haywire." In less than two years, Didley Squat's four teenage members have performed in some of Sacramento's most prominenant live venues, including the Boardwalk, as well as venues in UC Davis, UC Berkeley, Sunnyvale and San Francisco. In this time, they have also released two independent albums, acquired a massive fanbase, and gained respect in the local music scene.
